Shopping My Stash: Vice 4, Day 2

Anastasia Beverly Hills' new Subculture palette came out yesterday.  Even though I only want the teal shade (Axis) and it would be stupid to spend over $40 on a palette for one shade, I'm still fighting the urge to just buy it.  Let us redirect back to our stash, shall we?  Vice 4 is a palette that I bought because it looked like it was made just for me, but I also almost never use it.  That's shameful.  I need to use it.

Actual image of my actual Vice 4 palette as of the time of this writing.  There are better images of the colors elsewhere on the internet, but here is the state of mine, with no pan showing anywhere.

Apologies for blogging about a limited edition palette that you're going to have a hard time finding if you don't already own it, but I don't think these shades are unique.  If you have a burning need to possess these colors but you missed out on Vice 4, you could find similar singles from other brands.

Shades used: 1985 ("crease" and center of lower lashline) and Beat Down (lid and outer part of lower lashline).  Random pan of lighter pink used as transition shade.  It might be Urban Decay Scratch.  It might be something else.  It's not important.  Also used some shade of white from a depotted Urban Decay palette.  It could be from Naked Smoky, or it could be from Spectrum.  It's a matte whitish shade.  Also not important which exact shade it is.  I just take something very pale and apply it under my brows to blend out the edges of the actual colors that I use.  If you have darker skin, you would go with something darker.

Also used some NYX Glitter Primer and Specter from the Moondust Eyeshadow Palette over part of the lids.  Inner corner highlight is Illusion from the BH Cosmetics Blacklight highlight palette over Nyx Faux White pencil in Vanilla.  I used the same Illusion to highlight cheekbones, blended out with a little MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade.

I could get clearer images by taking off my glasses but I am leaving them on because I wear glasses.  Unless I am showering or sleeping, I am wearing glasses.  This is what the finished look is like.  There's going to be glare sometimes but even if there's terrible glare on one lens, the other isn't that bad.  You can see the makeup.  You get the idea.  Also, I'm going to have patches of missing makeup on my nose if I take them off.  That's fine, because I need these things to see.  Other than taking makeup pics, I have no reason to remove my glasses.  So why?

I don't think I specified this before but the very base of all my eye looks is primer!  Always!  With hooded lids, this makeup would quickly be a wreck without primer.  Currently using Too Faced Shadow Insurance, which I bought well before the co-founder of Too Faced was acting like a complete fool online.  So I will point out to you that Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is one ingredient off, and they perform equally well for me.  Shadow Insurance comes in a squeeze tube without a wand and Primer Potion has a wand.  That is the main difference.

Still figuring out this phone ring light thing.  Also, ignore this hair LOL.
Just giving you the general idea of the finished look.

The real experiment of the day is the concealer.  I applied concealer under my eyes as per usual but then resisted every urge to set it with powder.  I'm experimenting to see if it will last and not crease, because one does get tired of having one's dry-ass under-eye area look reptilian after even slight powdering.  Not sure how this is going so far.  No creasing as of yet, and the skin doesn't look powdery, but I also think my dark circles are showing more than usual.

Other stuff on my face:
Photos taken with my crappy phone, under bad lighting, with a cheapo clip-on phone ring light that I don't fully know how to use.  No editing done other than cropping.
