Notoriously Morbid Chaos Reigns

Image
Before the demise of my original beauty blog, I had requested the beauty blogger package from indie brand Notoriously Morbid (now called the artists' package ).  If you have a blog, no matter how big or small, you can give them $5.00 and get a little package of stuff to try out.  I ordered it, life got ridiculous (not in a good way), and I never got around to actually using the products in a blog post.  So here we are. The full size shadow I was sent is called Chaos Reigns .  It's still available on the site. Label on my actual jar showing ingredients. Shiny AF It is described as "eggplant purple with INSANE gold and green sparkle atop a slight red sheen."  I will add it's glittery as heck, and you will definitely want to put this down over a glitter primer! This effing ring light.  What even? Seriously, this light.  HOW do you clip a ring light on your phone and not get green rings on your glasses?  Do you just not wear glasses?  Because

Vice 4, Day 4; Plus Foundation for Pale Skin

Last day of the Vice 4 challenge.  I probably named this series badly, but I'm still working out the kinks.  If I do this again with another palette next week, I'll probably consolidate into one post at the end. Shades used today: Grip, Robbery, Low, and C-Note on lids.  That's right, I used all shimmer on my hooded lids.  1985 on lower lashline, over Nyx Faux Blacks in Oxblood at the outer thirdish and over just skin in the center.  Inner corners are Low or Robbery, with a bit of BH Cosmetics Blacklight Highlight in Strobe over Nyx Faux Whites in Vanilla.  I don't remember.  Some random Urban Decay purple liner on the waterline.  They have a lot of good shades, and I didn't read the label.  It's purple. I didn't feel any real urges to shop for new stuff in the last day, but now the challenge remained to get a different look out of the Vice 4 palette I've been using all week.  That, and my new foundation came in! I decided to try Maybelline Fit Me

Shopping My Stash: Vice 4, Day 3

"Don't do purple again," I told myself, channeling Harry as he put the sorting hat on his head and fervently wished to not be put in Slytherin.  "Not purple!"  Except I like purple, and there are quite a few purples in Vice 4, and that was a selling point.  Still, I tried to do a different look.  I was only somewhat successful.  At least I used the thing. It's the same.  I'm getting one look out of this palette. Note to self: Try again.  Shadows used: Grip (transition), Pandemonium (nonexistent crease), Harlot (inner third of lid), Deadbeat (middle/outer lid).  Underhand on center and outer corners of lower lashline, over Nyx Faux Blacks pencil in Burnt Sienna. Inner corners are Nyx Faux Whites in Vanilla with BH Cosmetics On Point highlighter from the Blacklight Highlight palette. Also used: Element and Specter from the Moondust palette, with a little more of that On Point -- all on the centers of lids, over Nyx glitter primer. Oh, good

Shopping My Stash: Vice 4, Day 2

Anastasia Beverly Hills' new Subculture palette came out yesterday.  Even though I only want the teal shade (Axis) and it would be stupid to spend over $40 on a palette for one shade, I'm still fighting the urge to just buy it.  Let us redirect back to our stash, shall we?  Vice 4 is a palette that I bought because it looked like it was made just for me, but I also almost never use it.  That's shameful.  I need to use it.   Actual image of my actual Vice 4 palette as of the time of this writing.  There are better images of the colors elsewhere on the internet, but here is the state of mine, with no pan showing anywhere. Apologies for blogging about a limited edition palette that you're going to have a hard time finding if you don't already own it, but I don't think these shades are unique.  If you have a burning need to possess these colors but you missed out on Vice 4, you could find similar singles from other brands.   Shades used: 1985 ("c

Shopping My Stash: Vice 4

I'm trying to challenge myself to shop my stash and use what I have rather than getting carried away and buying all the things that catch my eye.  Because I have a big stash, and a lot of things catch my eye!  A friend posted a picture of a look she did with the Sugarpill Smitten and I needed it.  It is described as "shimmery hot magenta loaded with reflective sparks."  I was ready to buy it!  It's been discontinued. It's probably just as well.  I don't need more eye shadow.  I can shop my stash and find a similar shade. So I did. I was going to combine a week of looks using one palette into one post but it was too overwhelming.  I'll start with one day of looks using one palette and for today, that palette is Urban Decay Vice 4. I should have a picture of the palette here but I don't.  However, there are numerous examples if you do a Google image search.  Link: Vice 4 Google Images . I did not edit pictures other than to crop them.  No color cor

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my revamped beauty blog! I had one at snowbluebeauty.com for a while.  I had all these intentions for it, but then life happened and it fizzled out.  Why did I pay for a blog anyway?  Sometimes I do impulsive things.  I'm human. I've realized I don't want to "be a blogger" (like with a blogging schedule) but it would be nice to have a home for reviews longer than one or two words on Instagram.  Most people don't actually read Instagram anyway; you're looking at pictures and moving on by. The name: I'm covered in blue tattoos.  I've been called names relating to my extreme pallor my entire life.  Snow White is probably the most positive of them.  I'm not that white anymore; I'm blue.  Put the two together.  There you go. What's going to be coming: Product reviews, although not a huge amount!  I am not going to be doing huge hauls and reviews just for the sake of having content.  I'll review things as t
